Recovery Technology

Torque Performance Lab: Recovery Technology.

Training breaks the body down. Recovery is where adaptation actually happens. At Torque, we’ve built a complete recovery stack so athletes leave better than they arrived — not just worked.

Why it matters

Most pitching facilities focus on output — velo, spin, mechanics. We focus on the full picture. A pitcher who recovers well throws more, trains harder, and stays healthy longer. The athletes who build careers aren’t just the ones who worked hardest. They’re the ones who managed their body intelligently.

01. ARPwave / NerveOTX - Electrical Stimulation

What it is
High-frequency bio-electrical current targeting the nervous system — not just the muscle. ARPwave locates the neurological origin of pain and compensation patterns. Most injuries aren’t where they hurt.

The Science
Treats dysfunction at the neural source. Reduces aberrant motor firing patterns that drive compensation and re-injury risk throughout the kinetic chain.

At Torque
Used to accelerate tissue healing, break compensation patterns, and get pitchers back on the mound faster after strain or high-volume fatigue.

02. Microcurrent - Cellular Recovery

What it is
Sub-sensory electrical stimulation — so low you don’t feel it. Operates at the cellular level to drive ATP production and accelerate the body’s natural repair process.

The Science
Research demonstrates microcurrent can increase ATP synthesis by up to 500%, directly fueling cellular repair and compressing recovery windows post-output.

At Torque
Applied for soft tissue recovery, inflammation management, and targeted fatigue after high-volume throwing sessions.

03. Blood Flow Restriction - Strength & Rehab

What it is
Light loading with restricted venous outflow creates the metabolic environment of heavy training — without the joint stress. Triggers growth hormone release and hypertrophy at a fraction of the load.

The Science
Validated across multiple studies: BFR produces meaningful strength and hypertrophy gains at 20–30% of 1RM. Major implications for in-season and post-injury work.

At Torque
In-season arm maintenance, post-injury rehab progressions, and building workload tolerance in younger athletes not yet ready for full mechanical loading.

04. Red Light Therapy - Photobiomodulation

What it is
Red and near-infrared wavelengths penetrate tissue and stimulate mitochondrial function — faster cellular repair, reduced oxidative stress, measurable improvement in recovery time.

The Science
Among the most researched recovery modalities. Evidence supports reductions in DOMS, inflammation markers, and perceived fatigue across athletic populations.

At Torque
Post-session arm care and rotator cuff recovery. Ten minutes. The research behind it is legitimate and growing year over year.

05. Compression Boots - Lymphatic Recovery

What it is
Sequential pneumatic compression that actively moves fluid through the lymphatic system — not static compression, but dynamic pumping from foot to hip.

The Science
Mechanical lymphatic drainage clears metabolic waste, reduces peripheral swelling, and restores circulation more effectively than passive rest alone.

At Torque
Standard protocol after heavy throwing or lower-body training. Twenty minutes. Athletes come out ready to move again.

06. Hyperice Venom - Heat + Vibration

What it is
Targeted heat combined with vibration drives blood flow into a specific area before or after training. Loosens soft tissue faster than heat alone and primes the neuromuscular system for movement.

The Science
Combined heat and vibration produces greater improvements in tissue extensibility and pain threshold than either modality applied independently.

At Torque
Shoulder and arm prep pre-session, wind-down post-session. Especially effective for early morning training or cold-weather days when tissue is stiff.
